Particle systems use a large number of small images/sprites to build certain effects like fire or rain [1]. You can control the image rendered on the sprites, how they are created and how they move. You can even interact with them using your mouse.

Components

A particle system is defined by a number of small components that define the behavior of the particles over time, when they spawn, how they are drawn to the screen and how child particle systems are created and attached.

Add Particle System

Add particle.png

Click on Add and choose Particle System. Now select a simple preset and enter a name, then click OK. The Particle Editor opens.

Modifying an Existing Particle System

Select the particle system layer on the left, then click on Edit to open the Particle Editor.
